Left 4 Dead 2 Review

Left for Dead 2

Do you like blasting through hordes of the undead? Do you like doing this with buddies? Well if your answer is yes then Left for Dead is for you. You play as one of four survivors in a world infested with all different types of zombies. The main concept of the game is to survive, simple enough. Survive and blast away hundreds of zombies with Uzis and shotguns. How can life get any better than this? The answer to that is with friends. This game has a huge multiplayer concept. You can play with three other people online and go through the campaign with help.

Although for a zombie fanatic like me this game is not pleasing with the choices of zombies the game is still fun and the zombies can give you a bit of a fright. There are many types of zombies that you will encounter. My favorite being the most common type of zombie rightfully called the common infected. They are the normal zombies you would expect in a video game. To my dismay they are runners. I would prefer slow moving but they game makes up for its unrealistic zombie movement. They are weak and easy to kill but do not let that bring your guard down. They never attack alone and you will have to fight off several at a time. Throughout the game you will encounter ten other types of zombies. These are the ones that really bother me, the zombie fanatic. There is the boomer, the hunter, the smoker, the tank, the charger, the jockey, the spitter, the witch, and the wandering witch. All of these zombies have special abilities and require a little more time and energy to kill. But, don’t worry this game has a large arsenal to take out the undead menaces. You can choose from several types of shotguns and submachine gun, snipers, grenade launchers, and rifles. Along with this are several pistols and a plethora of melee weapons. So, killing some zombies will be fun.

As I said before this game allows for a multiplayer game play where you go through the campaign with three other people. This capability makes destroying zombies ten times as fun. It can be a little difficult being by yourself with a hundred zombies trying to kill you. You still have computers playing with you but we all know how bad computers are. By allowing for multiplayer the becomes more exciting, working with other people to fight off hordes of zombies. Allowing for cooperative fighting techniques to quickly bring the zombies to the ground. It is definitely a game to experience with a friend and more rather than by yourself.

As a zombie lover I feel the game is lacking in the zombie lore but once you look past that and see this game as what it is, a zombie killing fiesta, then most first person shooters will love this game.
