For everyone that doesn’t know,
Pokemon is a long running rpg in which the player plays as a pokemon trainer
with a goal of trading and fighting monsters known as pokemon, in order to
catch em’ all and become a pokemon master. The Pokemon series is one which
usually features minimal new additions and features each generation in order to
save more new stuff to put into the next generation.
Pokemon Black and white 2 marks a new experiment in the minimally changing series which is now exploring sequels to their established main games rather than simply a third edition. For example, Red and Blue were followed by yellow and Diamond and Pearl were followed by Platinum. This leads me to believe that this will be a sequel rather than simply a third edition, meaning that there will probably be more extensive changes likes a whole new story, some newer areas, and will possibly pick up where the last games left off. And from what we’ve come to expect it’s tough to imagine a graphical overhaul or even much needed features such as a new breeding system or character/ pokemon customization. The only known facts about the content of the game is that it will feature new online features as well as two new forms of legendaries Zekrom and Reshiram. It is also known that surprisingly the game will be released for the seven plus year old Nintendo DS rather than the newer 3DS. This decision is probably due to an aim for higher sales as owners of any of the four models of the original DS and well as the 3DS will be able to play the game. I, as a pokemon fan am looking forward to these games, and hope that several aspects and features from above are in these games as we’ll have to wait another several years for more new features in the six generation titles on the 3DS.
