Sonic the Hedgehog 6-story analysis-BAD

Sonic the Hedgehog 06 Story Analysis

The storyline in Sonic the Hedgehog for the xbox 360 was random and abysmal which made a poorly designed game even worse. The first problem with it before I even get to the plot is that there are way too many characters for this type of game. There are three many characters to play as, each with a storyline to play through and also each with an additional two or three characters to play as in each story. There are three problems with this story set up.
For one, there are too many characters to keep up with in the story. For two, most additional characters as well as one of the new characters named Silver are extremely boring and have little to do with Sonic or the main elements in the game. The third problem is that the game is titled Sonic the hedgehog so you’d imagine that this one would be especially about Sonic but it turns out that its about everything else from ancient shape shifters, to a physic hedgehog from the future, to even a distressed princess from a place that has no relevance to anything sonic. The main plot in Sonic’s story is that the royal city of Soleanna is under attack from Dr. Eggman and who is also trying to collect all the chaos emeralds in order to unleash a sun god known as Solaris in order to wreak havoc on the people and travel through time. Sonic, of course is trying to stop him by collecting the chaos emeralds while at the same time has to protect Soleanna’s Princess Elise whom Eggman is trying take captive throughout the story. The problem here is that the princess is completely unnecessary in a sonic game and what’s even worse is that the princess and Sonic actually develop a relationship which is another thing you don’t need in a story of a game like this, besides the fact that its creepy. The other two main characters have storylines as well but because they’re ridiculously boring and have so little to do with the main story line they’re not even worth mentioning. Lastly, after you beat all three stories in the game you can play a last story which gives a lackluster ending to an awful game. Basically Sonic dies from a blast from a barely prevalent new character called Mephiles. He is revived from a kiss from the princess and then transforms into Super Sonic and defeats the final boss Solaris. But what’s good about the game in the end is that the story basically ends on the note that all the events that happened never happened and that it was all just a dream. This at least shows that the game developers were self aware that they had created a terrible, random story that doesn’t even deserve to be in the limited story arc of the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
